💙 Life Happens — A Little Update from Kayla

Hi everyone,
It’s been a little while since I last posted, and I wanted to take a moment to check in and explain why I’ve been quiet. Life has a way of reminding us that we’re all human — even caregivers who spend their days taking care of others.

Over the past month, I’ve been processing the loss of a wonderful client who passed away. Every person I care for leaves a mark on my heart, and saying goodbye is never easy. It’s part of this work, but it’s also deeply personal. I always remind myself that it’s an honor to be trusted during someone’s most vulnerable moments — but it doesn’t make it hurt any less when they’re gone.

At the same time, I’ve been helping my dad through some serious health challenges. Many of you know how much he means to me. In August of 2022, he suffered a severe fall at work that changed his life. Since then, he’s endured three back surgeries, countless doctor visits, and more pain than anyone should have to face — yet he keeps fighting. Watching him stay strong through everything has reminded me why I do what I do: compassion, strength, and care matter more than ever when life gets hard.

And to be completely honest — I’ve also been under the weather myself. I’ve been fighting pneumonia, which forced me to slow down and take a little extra time to heal. It’s not easy for me to pause (I’m sure other caregivers can relate!), but sometimes even we need to take care of ourselves too.

I’m feeling better now and ready to get back to doing what I love — caring for others, sharing stories, and being a positive presence in my community. Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

I’ll be back to posting more regularly again soon, including new caregiving insights, helpful tips, and a few heartfelt stories along the way. 💙

With gratitude,
Kayla
